Features
A closer look at the platform.
Practiq is the day-to-day workspace for a clinical practice calendar, charts, billing, and the new generation of AI tools that listen, draft, and check, but never decide.
The calendar
The day, in front of you.
Open Practiq and the day is already there, a vertical strip of appointments, your active practitioners side by side, the right time zone for the location you're sitting in. Drag a slot to reschedule. Click an empty cell to add. Double-click a patient to drop straight into their chart.
A public booking page lives on its own URL per location. Patients pick a service, see real availability, and confirm with email or SMS. Reminders go out on the schedule you set. Google and Microsoft calendars sync both ways so the gym session a practitioner blocked yesterday shows up here.
The chart
One patient, one timeline.
Every encounter, every prescription, every form the patient has ever filled out lives on one chart, in time order. Conditions and medications carry their own history; corrections preserve the original so nothing is rewritten after the fact. Allergies and red-flag warnings sit at the top of every chart so they're hard to miss in the heat of a consult.
Sensitive identifiers, ID numbers, medical-aid numbers, are encrypted at rest and revealed only when you actively click to see them. Every reveal is logged with who, when, and from where.
AI scribe
A scribe that listens, so you don't have to type.
Hit record at the start of the consult, with the patient's consent captured on screen. The conversation is transcribed in the background while you stay present. By the time you're ready to write the note, the transcript is already there, searchable, click-to-play any sentence, edit segments by speaker.
Recordings live in storage that's scoped to your practice. Nothing leaves it without an explicit action, and no audio is ever used to train a model, yours or anyone else's.
AI drafts
Drafts that cite their sources.
Practiq can draft a SOAP note, a referral letter, a sick note, or a prescription suggestion from the encounter and the patient's longitudinal history. Every clinical claim in a draft links back to where it came from, a transcript segment, a prior note, a recorded observation. You see the source before you sign anything.
Prescription drafts run a deterministic safety review against the patient's active medications and documented allergies before the AI is consulted. Drug-drug interactions and allergy cross-reactivity, penicillins, sulfas, NSAIDs, surface as warnings the practitioner has to acknowledge in writing.
Billing
Invoices that South African medical aids accept.
ICD-10 diagnosis codes and NHRPL tariff codes are first-class citizens, not afterthoughts. Pick them inline as you work, and the invoice is formatted the way scheme administrators expect. Practitioner registration numbers and HPCSA practice numbers print on every PDF automatically.
Patients receive a view-only invoice link that lists your EFT/banking details. When the payment lands, record it once from the reconciliation page, the invoice flips to paid and the originating appointment closes out, no spreadsheet wrangling at month-end.
Telehealth
Video built into the chart.
Turn any appointment into a video consultation with one click. The patient gets a link; you get a link; you're both in a room with the chart open beside it. Recording is opt-in per session and stored privately for your practice.
If the scribe is on, the transcript appears on the encounter page minutes after the call ends, same flow as an in-room consult, no extra steps.
Privacy
POPIA by default.
Patient data export and deletion are built into the platform, not bolted on afterwards. Each practice nominates an Information Officer at onboarding and we route data-subject requests accordingly. Identifiers are encrypted with a per-practice key; access is role-scoped, so reception sees scheduling, practitioners see clinical, owners see everything.
Every change to a clinical record is recorded, who made it, when, from where, what it was before. The full picture is available in the audit log if a regulator, an internal review, or a curious practitioner ever needs to retrace a decision.
See it on your own patients.
Start the trial, load the sample patients we ship with, and walk through a real consult end-to-end. Fourteen days, no card.
